Tacoma Maru

Ship was the Tacoma Maru and known as Java Mystery Party 1 as there was no record of roll at Changi.

 

Remarks:-

Known as “5 Group 2”

PoWs were from 10th Battalion Camp at Batavia, route was to Singapore where 63 sick taken to Changi, then onto Panang where she stayed for a week. Arrived at Rangoon 1942/11/07, 12 had died.

1942/12/21 - All the PoWs from the Tacoma Maru were transported oversea from Rangoon in the Yamagata Maru, to Moulmein Prison.
